- Defining Play

This reading, as the title suggests, aims to define the term play and give context for designers of playful experiences. The reading is filled with vocabulary words and distinctions between terms and concepts, which may be useful in our third Module. I found that this reading sucked a lot of the fun out of play. Play is supposed to be exciting, energetic, and carefree, but this reading communicated anything but that. It is important as designers to be aware of these concepts, but over academic-ifying this topic seems almost counterproductive.
